Regional Sales Manager CA

We are currently seeking a Regional Sales Manager who will locate in San Jose, CA. This position will report to Sales VP or CEO and will be supported by our technical support team to achieve the sales goals. The overall objective of the Regional Sales Manager is to develop our business and sell products and services in the desired regions, to meet the current and potential customers’ needs on condition-based maintenance to high-voltage equipment which are normally operated in substations. Our products and services can help the end user to implement Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) on high voltage equipment like GIS, Switchgear, Power Cables, Transformers etc.

Key Responsibilities:

  • This successful candidate will commit to the sales goal of one or several regions in US market as well as providing marketing support to international market which is handled by inside sales team.

  • Regional Sales Manager should keep close relationships with key accounts and organize the team (if applicable) to perform good following up and customer service. Coordinate with other team members to accomplish the work required to close sales.

  • Regional Sales Manager would also meet with Customers to better understand customers’ needs, help them to solve problems by propose the suitable products and services as well as build cooperative relationship to pursue win-win situation.

  • Identify the pain points of potential customers, coordinate resources, and arrange technical support team to perform professional demonstration.

  • Maximum the advantage of CRM system, monitor and coordinate sales activities and report sales progress to mgmt. on a regular basis.

  • Perform data analysis to get better idea about past achievements, lessons learnt and future sales strategy and action plan.

  • Perform sufficient marketing activities to boost the sales per management’s approval include but not limited to organize/propose newsletter, mass email, trade show, magazine ads. , and presentation on PD relevant conferences.

  • Organize necessary materials/documents for presentations and proposals, etc. coordinate with other functions internally when necessary.

  • Communicate new product and service opportunities, special developments, information, or feedback gathered through field activity to appropriate company staff.

  • Identify and resolve client concerns.

  • Follow the defined procedures in the company, and propose improvement suggestions for better efficiency of the whole company.

  • Domestic and International Business Travels are required at an average of 50% or more.

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. It might require long standing hours and working outside the office settings.

  • By showing your good sales performance, you might get more resources from the company like hiring team member, etc. Be able to assess the strengths and weaknesses of the regional sales team and customize strategies to maximize each salesperson’s potential. Arrange good team work to present and sell company products and services to current and potential clients.

  • Other duties as assigned.


Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor in Electrical Engineering (EE) or higher.

  • Over three years of work experience as a sales representative of Test Instruments and/or Service in High Voltage equipment industry.

  • Over one year of work experience in selling Partial Discharge Testing Instruments.

  • Over one year of work experience of Regional Sales Manager.

  • Experience and knowledge of B2B marketing and sales strategies.

  • Extremely high level of integrity that can be demonstrated by past experiences.

Required General Skills and Knowledge

  • Excellent verbal and written sales skills, build and maintain good relationship with customers/representatives;

  • Good planning skills;

  • Good presentation skills;

  • Deep understanding of American culture;

  • Excellent writing skills and feel comfortable to organize at least one newsletter every month.

  • Competency with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

  • Speaks English at an idiomatic level, and multilingual is preferred, but not required.

  • Valid driver license.


Required Professional Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong knowledge on sales theories, include not limited to funnel theories, and willing to use it to guide your daily sales activities and find the best practice in your team as well as in the company;

  • Strong knowledge about CRM system with professional and successful experience on one or more CRM system, e.g. Zoho, Salesforce, ect.

  • Being aware of partial discharge mechanism, detection and measuring.

  • Fully confident about the importance of successful and accurate PD testing on condition-based maintenance to high voltage equipment.

  • Learn fast for the company's products, solutions;

  • Establish quickly the comparisons between competitors' products/solutions and ours. And find the right angle to convince and support our customers;

  • Use PDCA theory to follow up the sales activities and boost sales team to reach the sales goal.


Compensation: Salary + Commission
